Bonding FAQs
Q. What do I need to bring?
A. Just your buns! With bonding we start off in a neutral area without any toys. We provide all equipment and either Science Selective or Burgess Excel nuggets, plus lots of good quality hay.
Q. Where does the bonding take place?
A. In my home, within a dedicated bonding space.
Q. Can I come in to see the rabbits?
A. Unfortunately not. Because bonding happens in my home, I offer a doorstep drop off service only. This is to maintain my family’s privacy. You will get photos and updates throughout the week, though!
Q. How long will my rabbits be with you?
A. Bonds run Sunday to Sunday. Occasionally, they may run over this time frame and will move onto a daily boarding rate, but this will be discussed during the week.
Q. When do I need to pay?
A. 50% of the total cost is due at the time of booking. This is used as your non refundable deposit. The remaining 50% is due towards the end of the week, prior to collection. On each occasion a payment link will be sent to you.
Q. What methods do you use?
A. I’m proud to call myself an ethical bonder and will never force a bond or use stressful techniques. The rabbit’s wellbeing is my priority throughout the bonding process.
Q. What if my rabbits don’t like each other?
Studies have shown that rabbits value companionship as much as food. Just like people, sometimes rabbits simply don't click with each other. I collaborate with a local ethical rescue to help customers explore various options in such situations (subject to successful adoption application), including:
- Introducing another rabbit to the mix (ideal when rabbits are indifferent to each other).
- Allowing your current rabbits to each choose a companion from the rescue to bring home.
- If having multiple setups isn't feasible, we can swap a rescue rabbit for one of yours, enabling your remaining bunny to select their own companion.
